Starwood Hotels & Resorts to Open Hotel in Aventura, Fla.

White Plains, N.Y.-based Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. announced plans to open a new aloft brand hotel in Aventura, Fla., located at 2777 NE 185th St. The 215-room hotel is scheduled to open during the fall of 2009, and will feature 5,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, 9-ft. guestroom ceilings, oversized windows, wireless Internet, flatscreen televisions, a bar, fitness center, indoor and outdoor pool and a 24-hour convenience store. According to the company, the aloft brand currently has more than 60 projects in development in 10 countries. Starwood Hotels & Resorts operates approximately 900 properties in 100 countries.
