Pacific Sunwear Reported 1Q Sales Results

Anaheim, Calif.-based Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. reported total sales from continuing operations of $266.9 million for the first quarter ending May 3, 2008, compared with $268.1 million for the same time period last year. Total same-store sales declined 1 percent; and net loss from continuing operations was $12 million, versus a loss of $300,000 last year. "Although our first quarter was disappointing, we successfully accomplished four meaningful initiatives that position us well going forward," said Sally Frame Kasaks, CEO of Pacific Sunwear. The company operates 942 stores in 50 states and Puerto Rico under the PacSun and PacSun Outlet banners.
