Former Dayton Exec Kenneth Macke Dies at 69

Kenneth A. Macke, a former chairman and chief executive of the Dayton Hudson Corp. (now Minneapolis-based Target Corp.), died Saturday at 69 due to complications with Parkinson's disease, according to The New York Times. Macke began work with Dayton Hudson as a sales trainee right out of college, and lead a 33-year career with the corporation. Dayton Hudson was one of the five leading general merchandise retailers in the United States when Macke retired in 1994. He died close to his home in Napa, Calif.
