Red Lion Acquires Hotel in Aurora, Colo.

Spokane, Wash.-based Red Lion Hotels Corp. announced its acquisition of the Radisson Hotel Denver Southeast for $25.3 million, located in Aurora, Colo., at 3200 South Parker Rd. The company expects the sale to close in the second quarter of 2008, and will rebrand the hotel as a Red Lion property. According to Red Lion Hotels, it plans to spend approximately $8 million on renovations for the hotel. The 478-room hotel currently features a swimming pool, business center, a 120-seat restaurant, a 50-seat lounge and 25,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. "This acquisition is part of our long-term growth and expansion strategy to increase our brand imprint," said Anupam Narayan, Red Lion president and CEO. Red Lion operates 53 hotels in eight states and Canada.
